
Sandy Hatfield, son of Nettie and Bryce Hatfield, formerly of Kenogami, Quebec, husband of Heather Noble and dear father of Ashley and Tyler, beloved brother of John (Laurie) and Janet, passed away at home on Monday, January 19, 2026, in Lachute, Quebec. He will be sadly missed by nephews Jonathan and Martin, nieces Sarah and Kiki and grandnephew Logan.
Born 76 years ago in Arvida, Quebec, after high school Sandy attended both Acadia University and Bishop's University, completing his Bachelor and Master's degrees at Acadia and graduate certificate in education at McGill University.
Sandy spent many years teaching for the Laurentian Regional High School in Lachute. In retirement, he embarked on a new highly successful venture writing, directing, acting in and producing murder mystery dinner theatre productions, “Doc McCoy Murder Mysteries”.
A popular enthusiast in any undertaking, Sandy delighted children and adults alike with his incredible sense of humour and his delight in puns. A musician with a talent for harmony, he was equally adept with a bass guitar or a set of drums.
Sandy was a consummate entertainer with a strong sense of community and fairness. He will be so very much missed by family and friends, and by the many lives he touched.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Salon Roland Ménard Inc., 395 Rue Grâce, Lachute (QC) J8H 1M3. The family will receive relatives and friends starting at 1:00 p.m.
