It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Shirley Eloise Soule Maxwell's peaceful passing on December 22, 2023.
 
Shirley was born in Mystic, Quebec in 1927 to Royston and Alice (née Watson) Soule. She had two brothers, Stanley (her twin) and Winston, who both predeceased her.
 
Shirley attended university in Montreal to become a teacher. In 1955, she moved to Lachute where she met Roland (Rollie) Maxwell; they married in 1964.
 
Shirley and Rollie never had children, but they always loved having their nieces and nephews visit them and let them experience life on a dairy farm
 
She was extremely devoted to her friends and community and it goes without saying that anyone who knew her has their own fond memories of Shirley. 
 
The family would like to express a special thank you to the amazing staff at the Lachute Residence, as well as her friends who visited often and kept her company.
 
In her memory, a donation in Shirley’s name to The Walbridge Conservation in Mystic, Quebec (walbridgeconservation.com) or The Lachute Residence Women’s Committee would be appreciated.
 
Visitation at the Salon Funéraire Roland Ménard in Lachute on Saturday, January 13th at 12:30 PM, followed by the service at the parlor.
